Recommendation for Marc Williamson
I’ve known Marc for over 20 years and had the pleasure of fishing with him and sharing the teaching of fly fishing schools with him. Marc is a solid, down-to-earth, practical fly rodder, which means he knows how to catch fish under all conditions in lakes and streams. Marc has demonstrated his excellent fly fishing and fly tying skills in many professional and club venues for well over 20 years. As a professional educator he also understands how to explain the various aspects of fly fishing to others in a no-nonsense way that allows them to readily grasp the concepts and convert that understanding to success on stream and lake. Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, Marc has successfully used his own fly designs to fish for trout and steelhead. He brings his sixty plus years of angling experience and well-honed speaking experiences to his power-point programs, casting and fly tying demonstrations.

For some 35+ years I have been a member of one or more fly fishing organizations. Over that time I have probably seen or heard over 400 presentations or programs during their meetings. Most have been “OK”; many have been good; a few have been excellent but very few have been extraordinary.
In the past two years, I have seen Marc Williamson present two or three programs such as I had not seen previously. The pictorials were very professionally put together on a computer program (Despite a doctoral degree, I do not know how this is done to be able to accurately describe it), and his speaking was extremely well coordinated.
Having fly fished for a very long time, I have come to know a good bit about that, fly tying, and related subjects. So, it is highly appreciated when someone presents information that is new, accurate, interesting, beautiful and instructive. Marc does it. Whenever I hear he is a presenter at an event, I look forward to it, as I have rarely seen or heard better. I cannot recall any.
