Carey Special
Hook: Daiichi 1110
Thread: Black or Red
Tail: Pheasant Rump
Body: Peacock Herl
Rib: Small Copper Wire (optional with Red Butt)
Hackle: Peacock Rump
This is an older pattern, but it has become one of my go-to patterns on lakes through out the Oregon Lakes. I find that the Red Butt Carey is a great pattern.

How to dub the body...create a dubbing loop as you normally would. In the loop pull down a few peacock herls and one or two strands of red crystal flash. Spin the loop and dub as you normally would.
Legs...As you complete the thorax pull the remainder over the sides and seperate for the legs.
